Roots to grow, Wings to fly

A very warm welcome to Trinity Academy Eppleby Forcett and Middleton Tyas. We hope that you find it useful. Do let us know if you would like us to add further information.

We are unique in the way our schools operate. Although, we are technically two separate schools we actually operate as one! Our Eppleby Forcett building has been specially adapted to suit all our EYFS children including a pre-school from age 2. At our Middleton Tyas site, we have 6 classrooms with single form entry classes from Year 1 to Year 6. We have a bus company who transport children between sites before and after school, staggered opening times and full wrap around care at both sites to facilitate access.

Our highly skilled team of practitioners, driving our exciting and nurturing curriculum, ensure our children achieve the highest standards possible. Whilst individual cohorts may vary, our children’s academic progress and attainment is consistently ‘significantly above’ the national average; putting us in the top 20% of schools in the country (2022).

These results follow a historical trend for our schools, with academic achievement over time showing outstanding attainment and progress.

Within these results, there are countless individual stories of children persevering with their learning and thriving under our broad and rich curriculum.

Whilst we are exceptionally proud of our results, and proud of our children, our school is so much more than academic achievement. Our curriculum puts every child at the centre of our school community, where our core Christian values of respect, perseverance and positive relationships are at the heart of everything we do.

We have designed an ambitious curriculum that is sequenced towards cumulative knowledge and skills which prepare our children for a life-long love of learning.

At our school pupil voice is at the heart and is implemented and actively promoted via the School Council, Collective Worship and other opportunities throughout daily school life.

Reading across all curriculum areas, is a priority to extend and deepen pupils’ understanding and use of vocabulary. This allows pupils to access the full curriculum offer, developing their fluency, confidence and enjoyment of reading and learning.

To develop their interests further, children from Years 1-6 have access to a wide range of extra-curricular activities including creative arts; music; sports; board games and St Michael’s Church Club.

We would love to show you around and look forward to seeing you soon.
